Summary of 2008 for David & Michelle

January

During January Michelle took a course in Facials which will hopefully help with the Aphrodite business

February

In February I changed my job, still working for the same company, I became A Purchasing Analyst (Buyer) for Xpart a division of Caterpillar.

March

At the end of March and into April I spent a week in North Wales walking Trafan and Snowdon with snow on the ground, perfect weather.

April

During April I took both Mum & Dad for a day trip to Cadbury World, I think they enjoyed the day, not bad for a 79 & 80 year old couple. Dad was ill on the way home which was to start of a few weeks in hospital- he is ok now. Both Michelle and I spent a few days in North Wales, this time we walked up Cader Idris in the south west part of the Snowdonia National Park. I got in trouble because instead of walking up to the top and then back down to the car, I took the wrong route and went over the top to the other side which meant we were about 15 miles away from the car, luckily we got a lift back to the car.

May

Michelle had a week away in the caravan at Stanford Hall. Also in May for Michelle’s birthday we went to see the Osmond's 50th anniversary concert at the NIA in Birmingham, Michelle say’s it was excellent, I’ll taken her word for it (ignore what he said - he threatened to wear earplugs but he didn't!!!! thus he did enjoy it also)

June

We did our first long bike ride of the year; we went to Carsington Water in the Peak District. In June Michelle’s Mum & Dad celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary

July

Early July we had our main holiday for the year we went to Scotland, stayed in Fort William.

Walked up Ben Nevis, for my birthday, we also went on a boat trip to see the dolphins and a day horse riding plus lots and lots of photo’s were taken, overall a very good week. A few photos can be seen in the pictures page. Late July we had a long weekend in Rutland and did our second bike ride of the year, we biked around Rutland Water.

August

The Gallimore brothers walk up Snowdon - Alan & Brian decided they wanted to do a mountain walk so we all went to Snowdon, we were very lucky with weather, the day before and the day after were both very bad, even the day we did the walk the weather was poor, but just as we got to the top the clouds cleared which helped with the views because the sky above was clear and the clouds were below, it made for a great atmosphere, I will put some pictures in the my pictures page at the next up-date.

September

We had a few days away in the caravan in the Peak District,  this time we did our third long bike ride of the year, we rode the Tissington Trial.

October

October was a quiet month, Michelle visited a craft fayre, which has given her some ideas for next years Specialty Card sales.

November

During November I took a few days of work to get away on my own in the caravan to the Peak District, I spent a few days walking in the peaks and looking at the sites and taking a few pictures. At the end of November and the start of December we had a few cold frosty mornings, Michelle & I took the opportunity to get a few early morning walks, getting a few good photos at the same time, some can be seen on the my pictures page.

December

A busy month work wise, which meant I was unable to get away for one more hill walk during 2008. Christmas seemed to be upon very quickly this year. We spent Christmas at home and a few nice country walks during the holidays. A trip to Northampton on the 28th to celebrate Christmas & Dads 81st Birthday with the Gallimore family including Brian’s step son & daughter and grandson.  I spent the last few days of the year feeling a bit under the weather, which meant I had to cancel a trip to see a friend which was bad news because she now lives in America, so it may be years before I get the opportunity to see her again.
